Staff Profiles

Ron Walker is the Head Professional at Lundin Golf Club. As an Assistant Professional Ron spent 18 months with Jim Farmer in St Andrews and the following 9 years at The Golf House Club Elie, learning his trade under the vastly experienced Robin Wilson.

In 1998 Ron moved to The Duke’s St Andrews to take up the position of Teaching Professional for The Old Course Hotel moving on to become the Head Professional in 2000.

Having competed in many Tartan Tour events Ron chose the path of the retail side of the business where he concentrates heavily on customer service, providing services for the members and tuition incorporating custom club fitting.

During Ron’s time at Elie he successfully ran junior programmes which saw a select number win national championships during that spell and also gain International honours. He has 21 years experience as a Golf Professional and is honoured to take over the mantle as Club Professional from David Webster who retired on October 2008 after 35 years service.

Scott Spence has recently joined the team at Lundin bringing with him a welalth of knowledge and understanding of the golf swing.

Having just spent 6 months at The Salobre Golf Resort in Gran Canaria coaching all levels of golfer Scott decided to head home to Fife where prior to taking that position was one of the professionals at Wellsgreen Driving Range where he served his training for his P.G.A qualification. Scott will regularly represent the club on The Tartan Tour in season 09.

Liam McGowan joined the team in February, a young ambitious +1 golfer from St Andrews who intends to attend European Tour Qualifying School in September of this year.

Liam will be based in the Pro Shop where he will assist in the day to day running of the retail side of the business.
